About NameWells
NameWells is a set of 15 naming tools that are free to use, with no account, no credits and no paid tier. It exists because most name generators bury a simple job under sign-up walls and upgrade prompts.
How the tools work
Every generator runs in your browser. Word banks, blending rules and scoring heuristics are part of the page you already loaded, which is why results appear the moment you press Generate — there is no queue and no server round trip.
The words you type never leave your device. Favourites and recent generations are stored in your browser's local storage, so they survive a refresh and disappear when you clear your browsing data.
What we will not do
- Invent meanings or origins. If we cannot source a name's etymology from a verified dataset, we do not display one.
- Claim availability. We have no live lookup for usernames, domains or trademarks, so we never imply a result is free to take.
- Fake popularity data. Our "popular tools" page is an editorial selection, because we do not track you.
- Gate the basics. Generating, copying and saving names will never require an account.
